📣 MEETING DAYS & TIMES: 📆 Tuesdays & Thursdays 04:00 PM – 04:50 PM EASTERN TIME via Zoom 🎂 AGES: 11–13 Is your child ready to strengthen their math skills and feel confident tackling middle school math? Sixth grade is an important transition year where students move beyond basic arithmetic and begin working with ratios, rates, negative numbers, and early algebra concepts. Building strong skills at this stage helps students enter pre-algebra and algebra with confidence. The Math Achievers Program (MAP) – 6th Grade Intensive helps students strengthen key sixth-grade math skills while developing the confidence to approach challenging problems using clear strategies. Instead of simply memorizing procedures, students learn how math works through visual models, strategy-based lessons, and interactive practice. In this class, your child will work on: 🎯 Ratios & Rates: Students learn to compare quantities, understand unit rates, and apply ratios to real-world problems. 🎯 Fraction & Decimal Operations: Students strengthen their ability to work fluently with fractions and decimals in multi-step problems. 🎯 Integers & Number Sense: Students are introduced to negative numbers and learn how they are used in real-world contexts. 🎯 Pre-Algebra Thinking: Students begin exploring algebraic reasoning, including expressions, variables, and solving simple equations. 🎯 Multi-Step Problem Solving: Students practice analyzing complex word problems and explaining their mathematical thinking. Classes are interactive and taught in small groups, giving students the opportunity to ask questions, share strategies, and build confidence in a supportive environment. To get the most from this program, students should already be able to: ☆ Multiply and divide multi-digit numbers ☆ Perform operations with fractions and decimals ☆ Understand equivalent fractions and basic fraction operations ☆ Solve multi-step word problems with guidance
