About This Course
📣 MEETING DAYS & TIMES: 📆 Tuesdays & Thursdays 11:00 AM – 11:50 AM EASTERN TIME via Zoom 🎂 AGES: 8–10 Is your child ready to strengthen their math skills and feel more confident tackling bigger math challenges? Fourth grade is a major turning point in math, when students begin working with multi-digit multiplication, long division, fractions, and more complex problem solving. When students build strong understanding at this stage, they are much better prepared for upper elementary math and future concepts like ratios, pre-algebra, and algebra. The Math Achievers Program (MAP) – 4th Grade Intensive helps students strengthen essential fourth-grade math skills while developing the confidence to solve challenging problems independently. Instead of simply memorizing procedures, students learn how math works through visual models, strategy-based lessons, and interactive practice. In this class, your child will work on: 🎯 Multi-Digit Multiplication & Division: Students develop strong strategies for multiplying and dividing larger numbers, including the foundations of long division. 🎯 Place Value with Larger Numbers: We extend number sense to the thousands and beyond, helping students feel comfortable reading, writing, comparing, and rounding large numbers. 🎯 Fraction Understanding: Students explore equivalent fractions, comparing fractions, and representing fractions using visual models. 🎯 Stronger Problem Solving Skills: Students practice breaking down multi-step word problems and explaining their thinking clearly. Classes are interactive and taught in small groups, giving students the opportunity to ask questions, share strategies, and build confidence in a supportive environment. To get the most from this program, students should already be able to: ☆ Add and subtract within 1,000 ☆ Understand place value through the thousands ☆ Know basic multiplication facts ☆ Solve one- and two-step word problems
