About This Course
📣 MEETING DAYS & TIMES: 📆 Mondays & Wednesdays 9:00 AM – 9:50 AM EASTERN TIME via Zoom 🎂 AGES: 8–10 Is your child ready to strengthen their math skills and feel more confident tackling new challenges? Third grade is an important year in math, when students begin learning multiplication, division, fractions, and more advanced problem solving. When kids build strong foundations at this stage, everything that comes next (fractions, long division, and even algebra) becomes much easier. The Math Achievers Program (MAP) – 3rd Grade Intensive helps students strengthen the core skills they need while building the confidence to think through math problems independently. Instead of simply memorizing procedures, students learn how math works through visual models, strategy-based lessons, and interactive practice. In this class, your child will work on: 🎯 Multiplication & Division Foundations: Students learn how multiplication and division work through visual models, strategies, and real problem solving, not just memorization. 🎯 Stronger Number Sense: We review place value, addition, and subtraction strategies so students feel comfortable working with larger numbers. 🎯 Fraction Basics: Students explore fractions using visual models and hands-on activities to understand parts of a whole. 🎯 Problem Solving Skills: Students practice breaking down word problems and explaining their thinking, helping them become confident mathematical thinkers. Classes are interactive and taught in small groups, giving students the opportunity to ask questions, share strategies, and build confidence in a supportive environment. To get the most from this program, students should already be able to: ☆ Add and subtract within 1,000 ☆ Understand place value to the hundreds ☆ Solve simple one-step word problems ☆ Know basic skip counting (2s, 5s, 10s)
